There will always be someone putting you down. It could be a friend, crush, a family member, a cat. Sometimes you will feel like a Shane Dawson book. (Sorry Shane. However, if you do end up reading this for some odd reason, I would like to say I love your honesty and openness to the public about your life. It's all extremely relatable. Also, I read your books to a playlist filled with 90's music on Spotify. It gives an extra zazz.) (If you haven't read a Shane Dawson book or checked out his youtube channel(s), you should. Especially if you're reading self-help blogs.) I have tried to live my adult life based on a couple theories found on random Facebook pages as well as movies and books that have been engraved in my memory which are going to be revieled...now:
1. How will this issue effect you in the future?
Will it still be a problem in 5 years? Will it be a problem in even 1 year? If not, you shouldn't dwell on it. Most things can be fixed within a year. You can lose at least 75 pounds if you are loyal to your diet and workout plan. Are you failing a class? Well, get your ass to the library and study. Have a group studying session, get a tutor, talk to your professor or substitute teacher, whatever. Do what you need to do and get over it. Calm down, drink some water (or Mike's Strawberry Margarita "Cold. Hard. Refreshing), take a few deep breaths. Stop whining if you're not doing anything to try to fix it.
2. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
Princess Diaries anyone? No? Well maybe you've heard this quote from a museum tour guide talking about Eleanor Roosevelt. Honestly, don't let anyone tell you who you should be or what you should believe them. You are who you are and you're a unique little thing. Or big thing. Don't be too cocky. Or do, whatever floats your boat. Or goat.
3. Don't let negative, toxic people be a part of your life.
This can be for anyone, even family members. You might not want to cut the tie altogether but at least keep them at a distance. If you are trying to fix yourself and be content with you who are as a person and they can't be supportive of your decisions or accept your opinions and they are just a negative influence, then don't let them have an effect on your life. Don't talk to them for a while and when you do, keep up your guard and try to keep it a civil, enjoyable, short experience. Most 20-somethings are in a quarter life crisis, especially for Millienials. They are trying to figure out a plan and a way into society, most without help from parents or financial aid. Anxiety and depression is now a trend for the generation and so much is expected. Remember that it won't happen right away but with the right group of friends, right attitude and determination, you'll be successful in whatever dream you're trying to chase.
Change the world by changing your outlook on it.

Fast Food Etiquette 101
As a fast food employee for the past three years, I have slowly started to realize how horrible a job in this field can be. So, let me start with a huge round of applause and a congratulatory plaque to anyone who has ever worked in fast food. Now, let's get into the grease.
Hangry people.
They're everywhere all the time. You can simply try to move at a fast pace and they'll think you have an attitude. So if you tend to get angry with whoever is making your food because they're 1) not doing it correctly 2) aren't holding your hand through the transaction or 3) don't laugh at "so what's free here", you might want to eat a snack or just cook your own meal. We're under enough stress already that we don't need you yelling at us when we're doing everything we possibly can and I mean EVERYTHING to get your food out in a matter of minutes and still hold a smile on our face for YOU so that you will feel comfortable and have a good vibe so you'll come back to eat with us.
Just buy the extra sauce.
We're a business. Not a pot luck or a friend's birthday party. If something is hand made and the employees in the store make that shit going in your mouth and through your digestive system you better believe we're going to charge you for it. NO, don't give us a look. Don't make a comment. Don't sarcastically say, "Well, is the ketchup free?" YES OF COURSE IT IS. Do you see a machine in our store that presses the ketchup packets together after squirting the same portion of condensed tomato paste in each one? NO. You do see us making that sauce though. So pay for it. If you don't want to, then go on with your day. Sorry that nothing is free when it comes to a BUSINESS.
Don't cuss out the person in drive thru.
It'll only make things worse. Sure, someone might be going through some things. I know I had a family member try to commit suicide and I wasn't in the happiest mood. I'd try to fake it but there was definitely something bothering me. Before you want to call someone a "Fat Ass White Bitch" because they charged you for an extra sauce or want to flick them off because they just closed and already turned all the fryers off so there's literally nothing they can do for you, take a breath, take a step back, maybe ask them how their day is. Make them smile if you have a good sense of humor. I know when I was in a bad place and still trying to get rent together, one joke made me have a little bit of a smile and a little bit of weight fall off my shoulders for the rest of the shift and a happier you. Because that is called being a decent human being and having a connection with somebody. Like, hey. I may or may not have been where you are and I understand you might be having a bad day and it's ok that you're not faking a smile for me right now and you're still here making sure the store is running ok and giving me my food while I'm on a rush.
Be patient.
Sometimes there's training days. You being patient and knowing it's hard learning the ropes at first will lighten the environment and let the trainee learn more.
Know what you want.
Fast food menus are incredibly simple. Most even have the same things on them. Know what you want before you get in a drive thru. We are actually timed and audited on how long it takes for us to serve a customer. I know many drive thru fast food restaurants that have to do that. It just makes us scramble to get under a certain time limit the longer you want to take your precious time looking at the same 5 ingredients in different combinations on the menu.
ENJOY YOUR FOOD.
You don't like it? Don't go back. You like it? Great, but don't expect it to be exactly the same everytime. There will be different fry cooks. Different stores with different management. No one likes an incredibly picky person.

Why "Shoot for the Comets"?
Why "Shoot for the Comets"?
Most would say "shoot for the stars" but those things take forever to even make a full circle. Why not shoot for the comets? People make wishes on those shooting stars and are quite frankly fleeting. Sure, you could be big and bright and seen by everyone but I think it's more exciting when you're only seen by the people that need to see it. The ones that wait for something to happen and put all their faith into wishing on that one comet.
The whole idea of this motto is to make wishes and dreams happen. If not for you, for someone else. Some missions may be fleeting, but at least there was some kind of difference made during that short period of time.
Start off slow, intensify your mission, be sure on where you want to land and stick to it.
